I am a clinical microbiologist by profession with an addiction to reading that is rivaled only by my addiction to coffee. I have an incredibly wide range of interests, and I pride myself on reading anything recommended to me, regardless of genre.
I find that books are the most powerful form of art. They say that “a picture’s worth a thousand words.” Give me ten thousand words and a cup of coffee and I’ll be content for hours. I do not have a favorite genre, I read anything whether I enjoy it or not. But it is, in my opinion, the most satisfying feeling to encounter a book that truly grips you, and one that tears you apart to finish.
To enter the world that an author creates – whether it is their interpretation of the world in which we reside, or it is one of their own design – is the most fulfilling part of reading.
